From floods straight into fire danger
March 30, 2010
With the eastern portion of Iowa still facing high river levels as spring flooding makes its way down the Mississippi, most of Nebraska is under
threat of high fire risk as warm temperatures and high winds meet over grasslands that haven't had time yet to green up for the spring.
Red flag warnings (signaling critical levels of fire danger) cover most of the state this afternoon, and a
cold front expected on Thursday should bring thunderstorms -- which could help improve the situation by saturating the ground, as long as lightning strikes don't cause fires in advance of the front.
We supply
portable fire pumps of many types for fire control, most of which are available through our
online store for quick shipment.
