Controlling hog waste while maintaining jobs
January 7, 2008
Missouri is dealing with a continued problem involving
odor complaints against large livestock farms. In general, livestock odors are compounded when large waste pits or lagoons are exposed to the air. These problems can be minimized through the use of
geomembrane covers which have the added benefit of allowing farmers to
recover the waste methane produced and use it to generate heat or electricity.
