Iowa House considers $200,000 for fixing low-head dams
February 1, 2007
The Iowa House is looking at a plan to spend
$200,000 to fix low-head dams and add safety tools around them in order to prevent future loss of life. Low-head dams are used to retain water for municipal supplies, among other purposes, but they're also exceedingly
dangerous to people using the river for recreation.
