Ethanol demand could increase corn acres by 10% or more
January 3, 2007
A continuing increase in demand for
ethanol means that
farmers could plant 10% more corn acres in 2007 than they did this year. That's a huge increase, and it will be especially important to the water industry, since corn is an especially water-thirsty plant.
