D.J. Gongol and Associates, Inc. are the exclusive manufacturer's representatives for dissolved air flotation (DAF) clarifiers from Krofta Technologies in Iowa and Nebraska. Krofta's innovative systems for water and wastewater clarification are highly efficient and can make your mechanical treatment process work economically, even in the presence of heavy fats, oils, and greases.

Krofta Supracell in Wastewater Service
The Krofta Supracell Circular DAF Clarifier is available in sizes ranging from just 4' in diameter to 70' diameters, accommodating treatment capacities from 5 gpm to 12,000 gpm (17 mgd). Because the Krofta Supracell DAF clarifier adds air to the treatment process, it efficiently settles solids in a minimum of depth. Most Krofta Supracell clarifiers hold just 18" to 22" of water, making it possible to actually stack multiple clarifiers upon one another in locations where space is scarce.

The Krofta dissolved air floatation clarifier works in a totally different manner than traditional settling clarifiers. Instead of holding water within the tank and waiting for solids to settle out, the dissolved air floatation clarifier uses micro-scale air bubbles to lift the solids where they are scraped off the surface. Since some heavier byproducts like grit are too heavy for the bubbles to lift, the DAF clarifier scrapes them from the floor as well. Click here to find out more about how the DAF clarifier works.

What makes a dissolved air flotation clarifier a good option to consider?
  • Scalability. Dissolved air floatation clarifiers are efficient on a range from 40,000 gpd to 17 mgd. And because they're stackable, they can be scaled to virtually any size of operation.

  • Oil, Fats, and Grease Control. Removing oils, fats, and greases from a wastewater stream can be difficult, especially where livestock and meatpacking operations are involved. DAF clarifiers take advantage of the natural floating tendencies of these pollutants and remove them with excellent efficiency. See our "how it works" section for the reasons why.

  • Easy Control. The Supracell DAF clarifier has a built-in side window that allows the operator to take a good look at exactly how the clarifier is working at all times. The Supracell dissolved air floatation clarifier is shallow enough for top-down observation as well, so the operator gets a 3-dimensional view of performance at all times.
