Stormwater detention facilities help cities and industry control a range of hazards created by major rainstorms -- ranging from massive soil erosion and sewer backups to unintentional contamination of nearby watersheds. A good stormwater detention system can help significantly reduce environmental damage as well as potential legal liability for all parties involved.
D.J. Gongol & Associates, Inc. has a number of solutions available to help solve stormwater detention problems, and we're always available to help you choose the solution that's right for your application.
- Detention Ponds. For clients who have lots of land available to them, stormwater detention ponds can be an economical choice for containing stormwater for controlled treatment and release. In order to be effective at containing water, these ponds need to be lined. We can help you identify an extremely durable and puncture-resistant liner that can stand up to the worst abuse.
- Detention Tanks. Where detention ponds are infeasible or where pre-release treatment is a priority, consider the Environetics PortaTank. PortaTank is a highly economical stormwater detention tank available in sizes from 5,000 to 5,000,000 gallons and is available with the very same reliable geomembranes found in our pond and lagoon liners. PortaTank can be built to your specifications, including in-tank treatment options, and can be delivered and installed on a turn-key basis for half of what you might pay for other tanks. For maximum economy, PortaTank is also available for your own assembly. Its bolted-steel hardware and geomembrane liners are easy to install.
- Stormwater Pumping. When it's time to move the stormwater, accept nothing but the best. Use Gorman-Rupp pumps. We can help you with Gorman-Rupp stormwater pumping stations as well as portable pumps in sizes up to 6". Whatever your stormwater pumping needs, rely on Gorman-Rupp pumps. Gorman-Rupp's subsidiary Patterson provides pumps up to 500,000 gallons per minute.
- Water Quality Monitors. Be sure to know the quality of your discharge as well. D.J. Gongol & Associates, Inc. can help you with dissolved oxygen monitors, pH monitors, flowmeters, samplers, and a host of other water-quality monitors so you can protect the environment and stay within the law.
- Portable Dams.
The State of Iowa has information on its NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) requirements at the
DNR website, and the State of Nebraska has its information at the
DEQ website. The
EPA Office of Wastewater Management has an extensive set of resources as well.
