Republican River rule compliance gets harder for Nebraska
May 22, 2008
A district court in Nebraska has just ruled that the state's plan to pay for water rights (thus helping to bring it into compliance with the Republican River Compact with Kansas) was against the law. Kansas officials say they're still not happy with Nebraska's performance under the interstate agreement, and they're talking about taking Nebraska to the Supreme Court.
