May 13, 2008
Popular Mechanics has named
Atlanta's municipal water system as one of the "ten pieces of US infrastructure we must fix now." They note that Atlanta's water system lost almost 20% of its supply due just to leaking pipes. Other parts of the nation's water infrastructure, including
flood controls in Florida, a
dam in Kentucky, and
flood controls in California. Upgrades throughout the
water,
wastewater, and
stormwater infrastructure in the US are likely to occupy a large share of the nation's public spending over the next few years.
