Platte River recovery plan becomes law
May 9, 2008
A
$157 million state and Federal plan to increase flows in the Platte River has been signed into law.
Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado have been in cooperation to improve the status of their shared river and increase the amount of habitat available to some threatened and endangered species. Land and water rights will be purchased to reduce consumption in some areas, and new storage plans are also going to be implemented.
