Time to check sump pumps

Severe Weather Awareness Week has already been accompanied by severe storms -- including some that have dropped very heavy rainfall. More are, of course, on the way as spring progresses. That makes now the most important time to test sump pumps and, perhaps, to consider getting a battery-backup sump pump. The strongest storms that drop the most rain are also the ones most likely to knock out power lines...which in turn makes regular sump pumps stop working. A battery-backup sump pump can fix that.
