No hydropower for Fort Dodge
March 12, 2008
Authorities with the
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission have
rejected a plan to restart the hydroelectric dam at Fort Dodge that has been sitting unused since 1972. The
formal decision of the commission said that the dam intended for hydroelectric use is unsafe and indicated that the commissioners had no reason to believe that it would be made sufficiently safe in a timely fashion to be used for hydropower.
