Drought will cut into Missouri River hydropower again in 2008

The
US Army Corps of Engineers, which
manages water levels and allocations on the Missouri River, has released its
annual operating plan for 2008. The plan includes a shortened navigation period on the river and a decline in hydropower production from the normal 10 billion kilowatt-hours
down to 6.5 billion in 2008.
