Water-rate hikes on the rise nationwide

Long-term underinvestment in America's water and
wastewater infrastructure is coming back to hit the public in the pocketbook. The EPA has estimated that we'll need to spend more than a trillion dollars over the next 20 years upgrading our
municipal water systems, and that money is going to have to come from
rate hikes for water and sewer services that are much larger than most of us have grown accustomed to.
