New map shows how Nebraska's farmland is used
November 21, 2007
The University of Nebraska at Lincoln has
assembled a mass of data and produced a
land-use map for the state, depicting
irrigation patterns and other useful information about the state's land use. Among other things, the map offers an eye-opening view of just how much of the state relies on center-pivot irrigation (which sometimes uses
vertical-turbine pumps to create pressure).
