Congress overrides veto of water bill
November 13, 2007
Both the US House and Senate
voted overwhelmingly to override the President's veto of the $23 billion
Water Resources Development Act of 2007, which will fund
about 900 projects across the country. Critics say the bill contained too much pork-barrel spending, but it's also quite evident that the country as a whole has been under-investing in its water infrastructure for decades, and the Presidential candidates are
saying very little about the issue.
