Ammonia-related fish kill results in a half-million-dollar legal settlement

An ammonia spill from 2002 that overwhelmed an Illinois wastewater plant and killed about 100,000 fish has been legally settled with a half-million-dollar project to improve fish and wildlife restoration. Ammonia is toxic in gas form and as a component of wastewater.
