Forest fires change the atmosphere

NASA has documented how widespread forest fires in South America caused large increases in atmospheric carbon monoxide across the continent. Forest fires in North America serve a natural purpose, and oversuppression can make the inevitable fires even worse. But with so many people choosing to live in areas prone to wildfires, fire-protection pumps for homes and businesses are a necessity.
