Extreme fire danger in Nebraska today

The entire Nebraska panhandle and parts of South Dakota are under an "extreme fire danger" warning, issued by the National Weather Service. Very high temperatures, drought, and the risk of severe thunderstorms are combining to create a high risk of wildfires in the region. People in that area are already experiencing smoke nuisances caused by wiidfires burning in Wyoming and Montana.
