Flooding cuts off water supplies for 350,000 people in UK
July 23, 2007
Flooding in central England has reached such a catastrophic level that
350,000 people will be left without running water by tonight because a water treatment plant is about to flood. This magnitude of flooding has happened before --
here in Des Moines, in 1993. DJ Gongol & Associates played an important role in helping the Des Moines Water Works resume operations. Because water and wastewater treatment plants are often stationed on riverbanks, they are at
especially high risk of flooding.
