Vegetation becomes public enemy #1

Nebraska's state legislature approved and the governor has signed a
bill to bring Nebraska into compliance with its interstate obligations under the
Republican River Compact. A major portion of the bill is devoted to vegetation management, based upon the need to prevent weeds and other plants from drawing water from the heavily-taxed river basin.
