Note to municipalities: Residents hold you accountable for floods and sewer backups
April 27, 2007
Canadian study finds that
people blame the local government when sewer backups and floods happen. That's a sign that communities need to take reasonable steps to ensure that they aren't at fault, especially if they're in areas susceptible to flooding. That may include keeping
portable lift stations on hand in case of power outages in major storms, which is when flooding is most likely to create the greatest need for pumping capacity.
