Sioux City wastewater rates to rise by 20%

The need to renovate Sioux City's wastewater plant means that the city will be raising sewer rates by at least 20% this summer. Sioux City is far from being the only community facing a significant bill to upgrade its treatment system, particularly as Iowa is forced into compliance with the Clean Water Act.
