UN World Water Day

March 22nd was designated by the UN as World Water Day 2007. For those of us in the United States, where water is safe and plentiful, it's sometimes hard to keep in mind that much of the world doesn't have the same security at the tap. Many places suffer what the UN calls "economic water scarcity," which generally means water shortages caused by poverty rather than natural forces.
