Ice storm power outages left at least one town without safe water
March 12, 2007
When the ice storms hit two weeks ago, a power outage caused the city of Janesville to
lose water pressure, which creates a serious risk of contamination. That put the town under a boil order. Power outages are hazardous to water and wastewater systems alike, but backup power systems and
engine-backup lift stations can provide an added layer of reliability.
