Water shortages could choke Las Vegas
March 7, 2007
The city, which has grown at a ridiculously fast pace since about 1980, is growing
too fast for its water supply. The result is a combination of economic and political arguments that make water one of the biggest issues in Nevada politics today. Nevada may be in the worst of it, but water's a major political issue in Nebraska and Iowa, too -- and it will become even more significant as industries like
ethanol and
biodiesel continue to grow.
