Water management area completed near Plattsmouth

A backwater habitat project at the
near Plattsmouth, Nebraska, has been
completed. It was designed to provide a reliable marine habitat for game fish and the endangered pallid sturgeon. There were concerns that the new Platte West water treatment plant soon to serve Omaha would increase the risk of extinction, and the new wildlife project is designed to prevent such a loss.
