Electronics retailer now a big investor in ethanol

In a sign that much of the financial and managerial control of ethanol has moved out of local growers' hands and into those of much larger firms, Rex Stores (a big appliance retailer) has revealed that it's made big investments in ethanol plants, including an expansion of its minority share in Iowa's Big River Resources, LLC.
