University Hospitals trying to fight Legionnaires'

The
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has been trying to deal with an
ongoing contamination of Legionella, which is the cause of Legionnaires' disease. The outbreak has been persistent at
UIHC because it's a
complex water system in the presence of people with weakened immune systems.
Ultraviolet disinfection can destroy many bacteria.
