Ames Wastewater Plant Gets Foam Rush
March 13, 2006
The wastewater treatment plant in Ames is trying to find the source of a recent
surge in foam. They're trying to find out where it's coming from because the
foam could cause equipment failure. Among the problems, foam can cause pumps to entrain air in the water. When that happens, the pumps can actually lock up and fail to operate. Other equipment can be damaged by foamy water, as well.
